conty Posted: May 28th 2008

i do feel like the luckiest person in the whole world, i cant stop smiling!!!!:D thanks harry:)

Harry Posted: May 28th 2008

I would love to do that, dont live anywhere near though. And im not good enough.

black Posted: May 28th 2008

no dont say that harry.

gromitlove Posted: May 28th 2008

OOh, that is exciting news, Conty. It must be great to be in a workshop amongst other modellers (without Meg to fluff things up or shake them)-- does the work go faster?

Keep up the good work and tell us what you can!

Harry Posted: May 28th 2008

I think conty that you will go great there, your amazing at modelling and I cant see anything wrong with you not being Aardman class. It will be your new home.

Just realised, you have seen some Matter of Loaf and Death stuff too, how lucky, I would move to Bristol to work at Aardman.

conty Posted: May 28th 2008

as i said harry i cannot discuss what ive seen, but everything they do is fantastic!!!!

hehe gromitlove you are so right, its great not to have meg hairs everywhere!!! and the time flys by really quickly, its a long day but it doesnt seem it at all. eight and half hours gone in a flash;)

black Posted: May 28th 2008

yes, time run's fast, time's run's slow.

Fish Posted: May 28th 2008

That's wonderful, Conty! I'm so glad for you!!:D|-):D Please do tell us whatever you can!

I can relate to the dog hairs issue! This time of year Ralphie's hair is EVERYWHERE!

cjayp33 Posted: May 29th 2008

this is great news, pleas ask about if they would consider doing the idea of the Aardman magazine, or ask them if they have any plans to bring back the Wallace and Gromit comic

Gromits little bro Posted: May 29th 2008

OH MY GOD!!! :O You should be the happiest person alive! Made friends and everything. Fantastic! You kept it in for 9 months! Wow. That's amazing. How did you get to work there. I think I might do that in a few years. ;)

jordan Posted: May 30th 2008

no chance of seeing the dvd?

Mark the shark Posted: May 30th 2008

Sorry Jordan, but what DVD? :)

Josephine Posted: May 30th 2008

Hi, conty! I hope I speak for everyone when I say this but we'd be gutted if that experience came to an end - Aardman is the creme de la creme of animation and no two ways about it!

An Irish animated film director (who shall remain nameless) told me that a friend/colleage of his gained valuable experience at Aardman, too, but it was mostly with CGI. The studios where he works now went on to produce some cracking animation like Skunk Fu and they are working on another project which I'm not at liberty to talk about at the moment (and no bribes of two ton box of Uncle Joe's Mintballs or the Almighty Nick P's wrong trousers because I'm saying NOWT!!!)

It's great to know that you are staying in touch when it comes to talking shop i.e. animation techniques, lip synch, storyboards etc. because, by the sound of things, you must have deeply impressed the Almighty Aards to become genuine friends, too.

I'd say you'll be back there at Gas Ferry Road or Aztec West in the not-too-distant future earning a crust and putting up shelves in the dining room for all your awards...just keep plugging at it like you are doing and pursue your other numerous talents.

Once again, many congratulations, conty! I'm chuffed to mintballs for you! ;)

Mark the shark Posted: May 30th 2008

You're a legend! MAKE WAY FOR CONTY!!! :D

conty Posted: May 31st 2008

thankyou josephine, i dont feel sad about yesterday being my last day anymore, i feel that i had such a great time that i will never forget and i learnt so much, to me it is just the beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!.............:D

As to the DVD jordan im going to see if i can rip it into moviemaker, i had a quick look last night but it didnt look like i can, i will have another go later:)

and i will scan through my pics to see if there is anything that i can show you, but there may not be many... but i will do my best:)

squigly Posted: May 31st 2008

thanks for posting the pics conty. it's great living through your first hand experiences. i've read your journal on DA but i don't think anyone can comment unless they have an account(?). you must be the luckiest kid on earth. they surely recognized your natural talent for modelmaking. i'm so happy for you!|-)

conty Posted: May 31st 2008

thanks guys:)

jordan yes it is the cat from the usa creature comforts, i had alot of fun animating him, i was so suprised that they trusted me with him:O i changed his voice though just to try to make it my own:) and as josephine would say i was chuffed to mintballs with the result

squigly your a star! you are always kind;)

Chocachoc Posted: May 31st 2008

Conty, on the aardman website it said you couldnt do work experiance in their studios, how did you get to work there?(are you in year 10 because someone said they are in year nine and you said u are a year older than them).

I would really like to get work experiance there, so how did you (if thats what you did, correct me if i am wrong).

conty Posted: May 31st 2008

i am in year 9, i wasnt sure how old modelmaker was, it was a guess

jordan Posted: May 31st 2008

im always amazed how big they are the CC characters

curt t1 Posted: May 31st 2008

conty im realy happy for you and sad because it came t an end!any chances of more pics?

conty Posted: May 31st 2008

this is the last pic that i can show you, its a pic of my morph doing a michael jackson impression, i cut a hole in a peice of greese proof paper and put it on the light so that it looked like he had a spotlight on him:)

manueli123456 Posted: May 31st 2008

hello anyone here????? plz answer me
:'(

Harry Posted: May 31st 2008

fantastic picture Conty. Just watched a Michael Jackson dance myself done by 'Signature' on Britains got Talent final. That looks amazing, I might try something with that grease proof paper. Well, who shall I make in a spotlight, doing a take on someone... Hmmmmmm. Maybe my own character doing one. I will think. Anyway your Great.

conty Posted: May 31st 2008

harry go carefull and dont leave the paper too close to the light and dont walk away and leave it, it could catch on fire!!! just make sure that an adult knows what your doing i wouldnt want you to burn your house down, greese proof paper should be ok but just go carefull;)

jordan Posted: May 31st 2008

lol great pic conty aww last one?

Harry Posted: May 31st 2008

Hehe, anything else I could use? hehe. I really like what you have done. Everything, from your mini Morph movie to Growbag. Well done, your a *STAR* and you have the job at Aard's Place! I would move down the country to work there. I will try get a good picture of my model now. And post it on Pics of models you have made.

cinders1 Posted: May 31st 2008

ive just been looking for you model harry and i couldnt find it:-| harry conty hasnt got a job at aards!!! hehe but i think thats where he would love to end up, ive never seen him so happy, but its cost me a bit today!!!! hes been out shopping for bits and peices and hes skint me out:O uuummmm im going to have to think of a few jobs i need doing teehee;) the lawn maybe

Mark the shark Posted: May 31st 2008

They are all amazing! Conty! Ta-da! Hail the conquering hero! Nah-nah-nahnah-nah! :D

Harry Posted: May 31st 2008

I just cant get a good lighting picture cinders, its annoying and sorry for being long.

cinders1 Posted: May 31st 2008

harry when conty takes his pictures he takes the photo outside, but you dont want bright sunshine, an overcast day is the best as it doesnt cast a shadow, so maybe try again tomorrow, and pray its not raining!!!!!!!!!!!;)

another good tip is if you use plain paper as a backdrop, be carefull when you handle it as if it creases it looks bad, i dont know if you noticed on the photo of growbag but in the top left hand corner the paper is creased and it doesnt look good;)

good luck, who knows the next david bailey per chance!!;)

Harry Posted: May 31st 2008

Thanks for the tip! I really hope I get to contys standards by his age.

I think as I grow older I will have more 'Umphhhh' in sharing my stuff.

Its annoying as I live noowhere near you and Aardman.

Well, contys got a job there for sure!

Fish Posted: May 31st 2008

I just read through the last couple of days of postings. I checked out Conty's photos....and all I can say is....
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D
:D!!!! I'm chuffed to a zillion mintballs you got to have this incredible experience at Aardman! It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person, Conty!:)

squigly Posted: Jun 1st 2008

cinders, I just thought of a job...how about having conty give Meg a bath. No more soggy cinders!!!:O;)|-)
