I thought he should be knighted because not alot of things are british these days but aardmann is and him and aardman have done a great thing. TO KEEP SOMETHING BRITISH.

Me! ;)

Josephine Posted: Jul 10th 2008

Crumbs, people! The nearest he's got to a knighthood is a CBE.

I agree with you, cinders1 my old flower, that Nick P is one in a million - as his mother said in a BBC interview years ago: "We are proud of him because he is a nice person..."

The question is: would the Almighty Nick P be comfortable being called "Sir" all the time like Sir Alan Sugar? Can you imagine it, folks... all this "sir" this and "sir" that...'ecky thump!!!! The Almighty Nick P commands enough love and respect from people of all classes and positions without needing a title...but you never know what's round the corner because who'd have thought Kylie Minogue would get an OBE??????

I met a real life "Sir" who told me that it is only necessary to call him "Sir" once in a conversation but his first name for the rest of it... people tend to forget that, somehow...

Josephine Posted: Jul 10th 2008

Correction, folks! I forgot that Ms Minogue was given Australia's highest honour - the Order of Australia.

If I'm not mistaken, the highest chivalry order in England (other countries in the UK differ) is the Order of the Garter...rarer and higher still is the Order of Merit...

Mark the shark Posted: Jul 11th 2008

SOCK-EYE!!!! Where have you been? Well, I don't think Nick's one in a million. I think he's one in a billion! :D Well, an old phrase of mine about importance: "It's nice to be important, but important to be nice."

Josephine Posted: Jul 11th 2008

OOOOOOOHHHHHHH, Markie Sharkie, my old fruitbat! Where have I been? Firstly, I'll say - oh, 'ecky!!! - I've really, really missed you guys and gals with the banter and valued contributions to our beloved forum. I'll have to roll out that old chestnut again called "The Dog Ate My Homework" i.e. overwhelmed with stuff. Pheweww, I'm so chuffed to mintballs that I'm back with my dear friends...

You are absoloutely right - the Almighty Nick P is one-in-a- KER-ZILLLLLLLLLIIOOONN! And,yes, it IS nice to be important but important to be nice." ' guess that sums up the Sainted Nick P, eh????
