I Must Be One Of The First To Buy The Airfix STS Land Rover....

But Be ready for parts that dont fit and instructions that dont make any sense lol.. this is my 4th day building it and typical airfix model which parts dont want to fit etc even the paint is naff. lol but the model is getting there and looking good. you would think for a company that went bust and have come back again would improve parts paint & instructions... im still enjoying it though shame about little things like that.

oh and one more thing. wouldnt you think that it would come with the farmer???!!

Ouch, what a harsh review! I'd be interested to hear what other people think and would of course love to see a finished model, Jordan!

i will post the finished pics soon when its completed but heres the bad parts of the Kit.

1. The Instructions From The Beginning Can Be Difficult To Understand, There Is No Text Only Symbols Which are Also Confusing.
2. The Front Suspension Parts HAVE TO be glued otherwise if you Dont Glue Them Like In The Instrcutions There Is No Way You Could Even Put The Wheels on.
3. The Rear Tailights & Front Headlights do not Fit Properly Into The Body Recess and Is a Tight Fit.
4. The door Hinges have been moulded with tiny bits which need removing before you can even put the door on , otherwise it will just not go on.
4. The Paint is Terrible, you have to paint parts in which it would be easier for airfix to Mould a different colour i.e the Roof, Front & Rear Bumpers. these parts took me 5+ coats of paint to cover over the "blue" mouldings but still the paint doenst look too good. also the paint seperates in the pot which you have to remix.
5. parts dont fit in the holes properly due to there overmoulding of components.
6. The Roof , rear window surround & fron windscreen surround are awfull and still havent figured out of i am going to keep the parts from falling over when gluing.
7. The metal parts which hold the 2 front wheels inplace DO NOT fit into the Suspension hole as the metal parts are too thick to fit through.
8. it looks like If you dont glue the wheels on there just going to fall off.
9. i want somesort of a refund
10. this model hasnt been thought through enough by airfix, and has serious moulding problems and paint issues.

so thats what faults ive found so far! , i love the kit and i will love the finished product but theres these problems that can pur you right off buying this kit which is £22.98

I have also built the STS landrover. I have had a few problems but it was easy to build for me but ive built models for 10years but the airfix classic model kits will never let you down.

And the symbols on the instruction arnt that hard ifyou have any other airfix kits if you look at there instructions you will figure out what they been.

OH and the paints you get with the model I know there rubbish but thats why I bought my own you can get them from any good model shop. so dont give up
