Oh dear, yesterday while filming haggis and neep tests, my stop motion pro died :'( i tried re installing it, but for some reason my computer dosnt like it :-| so when i discovered this on animateclay.com :http://www.animateclay.com/index.php?name=Sections&req=viewarticle&artid=24

This is anazzi, an animation software which i recommend being better than stop motion pro 6 or being too similar to it:D

not only do i recommend it, but the price is cheap as well....... ITS FOR FREE. For those who use a video camera have to download upgrades .

crackingcheese Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

Thanks Spazicat That's Grand

crackingcheese Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

It's a bit too expensive though

thespazicat Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

why get stop motion pro when youve got this;)

Chocachoc Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

it dont look at all as good, but its good for people on a low budget.

thespazicat Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

you should try it chocachoc.

thespazicat Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

heres a video i made with anazzi http://www.stopmotionmagic.com/videos/id_412/

Chocachoc Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

no, i dont want to, i have stop motion pro and i love it.

Nofby Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

Anazazi is no WAY as near as good as stopmotionpro! How can it be???

"an animation software which i recommend being better than stop motion pro 6 or being too similar to it"

It dosen't half even HALF the features on SMP. Its okay-ish for beginners, but if I had to pick a free stopmo frame grabbing program I would pick Monkeyjam.

I use Stopmotionpro v6, and I've tried Anazazi a couple of times to see what its like. Stopmotionpro is like a painkiller after using Anazazi. Its glitchy, with an ugly interface and has a screen way too small to carry out -proper- animation.

Hey, thats my opinion, so others might feel differently

Chocachoc Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

I agree

Ursrut Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

i have downloaded it spazicat and thanks for the suggestion.
I think i will stick to monkey jam for the moment thanks. nice find though.

plasjas Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

SMP is better

jills Posted: Sep 23rd 2008

Thanks for the tip, spazicat, I am going to download it as well as monkeyjam and try them out. I want to try animation but I can't get my SMP trial to work with my camera.

thespazicat Posted: Sep 24th 2008

okay, it dosnt have chromakey or audio input but in a way, its still the same thing, but for free. Trust me, its better than it looks.

thespazicat Posted: Sep 24th 2008

and then again nofby, my thoughts on it, the only reason im using it is because my stopmotion pro died.

plasjas Posted: Sep 24th 2008

jills what camera oh yeah the L73 well if you import your pics into your computer then you got to import individual file then open them in order it will string them all toghether if it doesn't work tell me please and i'll see if i can help some more

jills Posted: Sep 24th 2008

Plasjas thank you I'll try that, I was hoping I'd be able to see what I was pointing the camera at on screen but I suppose not :-| It doesn't make sense that it does this for the (built-in) sony webcam but not an external device unless it's a canon or nikon. Seems to defeat half the purpose if I have to upload to the hard drive first then import all the files.

cinders1 Posted: Sep 24th 2008

jills your camera will need to be able to support live feed, i know conty had a few problems with getting a live feed. when the guy from SMP came to help conty, he gave him a video xpress. its a little box that the leads plug into (im sorry i dont know what the box is really called) and that done the trick, i think they are aprox £30 to buy. i dont know if ive helped or made matters worse. if you need to know the name of the box thing ask conty when hes around im sure he will know|-)

jills Posted: Sep 24th 2008

No, that was helpful, cinders1, thank you, now I know that it's at least possible. I'll do the uploading for now and if I want to continue on with it I'll ask conty about the box and look into getting one. Thanks! :)

animation boy Posted: Sep 24th 2008

cinders, i think your talking about a dazzle plug; the one where you plug the red, white and yellow lead into the corresponding sockets.

cinders1 Posted: Sep 24th 2008

yes you do plug in the 3 coloured leads, but dazzle plug isnt ringing any bells, although you could be right|-)

plasjas Posted: Sep 24th 2008

is it called a capture card
