Hmm... I don't know! You could Email Keith Chapman! He's the guy who made Bob The Builder!

Chocachoc Posted: Nov 9th 2008

Maybe you could send an e-mail to an aardman staff and ask if they know any animation companies. I contacted Aardman for a list of animation companies for my work experience and they were extremely helpful(thanks again Aardman).

What are you working on?

What about Mark Spess, he is VERY good in animation and is doing a Project at the moment called Zombie Pirates. He is very professional and uses(or knows) all the animation teqnikes(spelling) around. So I think you should contact him. He also has 2 Stopmotion websites...

http://www.stopmotionmagic.com

Nofby Posted: Nov 10th 2008

Marc Spess. However he isin't in the industry as such. You need someone who actually works for money from a studio or organisation. I'll get you some contacts Laura, but I'm busy right now

Harry Posted: Nov 10th 2008

Done anymore on your animation Nofby. When will you be modelmaking?

Nofby Posted: Nov 10th 2008

I'm making great progress actually! I'm getting close to that stage (puppet making, set manufacture and and prop making) but I need to do the storyboard next, when I've finished the script.

I'm also buying a camera for the film, which shoots in fantastic definition, so that will be great.

Harry Posted: Nov 10th 2008

I am thinking of getting Stopmotion Junior. As I dont think I am ready for Stop Motion Pro v6.5 so I will try the program out. I would only get it if it has the Onion Skinning, Frame Changer(Delete Rigs By Swapping a Frame with an Edited image)

Do you know if it has them?

What camera do you think I should get for under £150 for Animation with Vista and Stopmotion Pro.

Nofby Posted: Nov 10th 2008

Yes, it has all of them. However, it only goes up to 15 fps. You might be fine with that, but I wouldn't buy it because of that restriction.

I have Vista & StopmotionPro, and the camera I'm going to buy is way above that. However, there are some ones you can buy. There are even some super web-cams like the Uni-brain fire-i

I'm buying the camera for shooting the film later this year, but I won't be shooting for a long while.

The camera is expensive, but I can buy a new edition of StopmotionPro too, I plan to downgrade to SD, because the camera I'm buying is not HD.

But, just because I can, dosen't mean I will, and its going to be expensive, so I am seriously considering to shoot with new developed stopmotion frame grabber 'Helium Frog'.

http://www.heliumfrog.com/

It is free, but Martin Price, the creator has put lots of time and money into it. Since it is so new, he is taking lots of opinions and suggestions and updating the frame-grabber. It has all the features of StopmotionPro, looks like the same, style is the same, nice and simple, easy interface, has hot-keys and you can shoot up to a full 30fps.

He is updating it, and its getting better and better. The latest edition has now got...

Single window mode
Rotoscope window
jpeg output
+ various other tweaks as suggested by users

Just wait for it to fully develop and be as perfect as its going to be. Its very new, but it has the potential to be a simple, but professional frame-grabbing tool.

Harry Posted: Nov 10th 2008

Ohh. 15fps, I could Only animate with 24 because of Lip Syncing. Whats the Cheapist one with 24?

Nofby Posted: Nov 10th 2008

Read my post above. The cheapest SMP is educational.

Chocachoc Posted: Nov 10th 2008

I've only ever used 15fps. If I changed I would probably make the video waaaay too fast. I'm used to the 15fps movement.

cavor Posted: Nov 11th 2008

lmlm6819 are you a member of the Imagine animation website you might be able to interview a Animation professional there,
Good luck here’s the link http://www.imagineanimation.net/

Nofby at a glance Helium Frog looks better than the earlier edition of Stop Motion Pro 3.5 I have
