What Do All Your Threads Have To Do With W&G
i want to join the addarm
I know what this has got to do with
&
- there is a policeman called PC Mackintosh in "...Were-Rabbit". There is also a police station in The Wrong Trousers. MichaelCharlton, look up everything you can about joining the police. If there are any police open days in your area, it would be a great chance to see what they do and ask questions. I know that there will be some who would say that it is a dangerous job - but, as we know from 9/11 (and Manchester in 1996), even going to work can be fraught with danger. Along with all the required qualifications and fitness stuff, it is essential that you can deal with people - you'd be surprised how many don't have this skill. Good luck, Michael, and all the best! ![]()
Thanks Josephine
No probs, MichaelCharlton! Anytime!
Happy New Year! ![]()

Yeah, I hope you get what you're looking for MichaelCarlton! Don't listen to Lemon06. None of his forums are to do with W&G!![]()
I think Lemon06 has been squeezed out by the look of things...I've not seen any signs of those distasteful things he posted...unless I'm mistaken. If I'm not, then good on Aardman for acting so quickly! Thank you!
Were you talking to me? If you are, Lemon06 kind of boasted on the drawings forum and believe me it was rude!
Mark the Shark, It makes my blood boil when an unmentionable decides it is big and clever to post rude and distasteful stuff - especially when they know full well that innocent children are using the site, too. Thankfully, they are few but they cause hurt all the same and we must continue to air our disgust at anyone who dares to do it again. We are a warm and caring community here.
The moderators are entitled to a Christmas/New Year, too, but why not get a duty moderator for holidays etc. to keep an eye on things? I don't know what that would involve but it's just a suggestion. Then again, why should anyone have to give up their own time to keep an eye out for no-marks? My blood continues to boil...
Yep, my blood's boiling too!
It's still boiling!
Mine's cooled.![]()
Mine has gone lukewarm, now! ![]()
What does lukewarm mean?
Lukewarm means "only slightly warm" - for eg if you leave your hot tea for a while before drinking it and it has cooled off but not completely cold.
Hope this helps, Mark The Shark! ![]()
does anyone no wer i can get some 4-5mm beads for eyes thanx![]()
Hobbycraft would be your best bet. In Manchester, there is a craft and hobby shop called Fred Aldous. If you Google it, there might be a website and you could order online. My mum and sister would go there for anything they wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Good luck!
Well,I wish u the best of luck and I hope u get the job!
Yes, so do I.
Thanks, Josephine.![]()
Always a pleasure! ![]()

You are very kind!![]()
I was constantly checking over Christmas, but didn't realise that would offend people. I'm sure Lemon06 didn't want to upset anyone.
Yes, I know. Sorry, Seb.![]()
Aren't British Police called "Bobbies". Or is that like,a yesterday thing?
I think so.![]()
Whoah,Mark, are you American or something? nothing personal, just wondering, have you got any Webkinz Pets?
No I'm not American, soz. I'm Scottish. I meant I think it's a Yesterday thing.![]()
We still call them "Bobbies" - they are named after a 19th Century British Government Home Secretary called Sir Robert Peel, who helped reorganise the London police. As Bobby is short for Robert, it's natural to call the cops, polis, gendarmes, gards, bizzies, fuzz etc. BOBBIES!!!
Hope that helps! ![]()
i dont know if any of you have seen the movie Hot Fuzz?, its about the countryside police, but it was filmed in our local town, it was really funny seeing places that we shop, and our somerfields being wrecked, and the spooky place at the very end is really a beautiful place, we sometimes take a picnic there and feed the swans![]()
Really, Cinders? That's interesting! I'd better have a look at that movie. It might be interesting!![]()
it was weird watching that film, seeing all the local places and it was quite funny as we do have a local bobby who is just like the local bobbys in the film, strange!!!![]()
Very strange!
Me, my sister and my ma went to see a film about the loch ness monster called The Water Horse and it was strange to finally see a Scottish film! FINALLY!!!![]()
Who has seen THE BILL
Conty and cinders, I heard about Hot Fuzz. Now I'm a bit more interested in seeing it. In America we have an online DVD rental service called Netflix that I subscribe to. I think I'll add Hot Fuzz to the queque.
Sharkie, I also saw a preview for the Water Horse. Did you enjoy the story? I was also thinking of adding the movie to my Netflix queque.
