Hello everyone,

You may have found a couple of new features on the forums lately:

Account Validation
We're introducing some new features to our forums over the coming days to increase the safety of our community. The first update is the introduction of account validation to confirm that the email address you have signed up with is real. From now on you will need to validate your account to post in the forums.

How to Validate Your Account
1. Visit http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/user/validate_email
2. Check your emails - you should receive an email from us containing a validation link and further instructions
3. Once you have validated your account, you can continue to post in the forums as normal.

New Forum Tools
hide.jpg Hide: If you don't like a message and don't want to read it again, this will hide it from your view.

report.jpg Report: If you see a message that is rude, offensive, or breaks a rule - report it to the moderation team and we will investigate it.

edit.jpg Edit: Allows you to edit your current message. This function is the same as before but with a prettier button!

New Users
New users will now have an "introductory period" where their comments are moderated. Their comments will appear in your discussions but will be hidden until they are approved, unless you actively choose to view them.

Please note if you decide to view un-moderated comments we cannot guarantee the nature of their content.

Having Problems?
For privacy reasons we can't discuss account details on the forums, but if you have any problems validating your account please email us at web.producer@aardman.com using the email address you are registered with. Feel free to post any other questions or comments below.

katie Aardman Staff Posted: Oct 22nd 2009

Hi guys,

Looks like we're still having a few teething problems with new threads...bear with us and we'll get them fixed asap..

singing sheep Posted: Oct 23rd 2009

I don't like the new thing.

concon Posted: Oct 23rd 2009

You said that already very rudely .

And that got you on a list ! :D

kldceltic Posted: Oct 23rd 2009

i just reported singing sheep rude singing sheep:'(:-(

leave aardman alone singing sheep they done it so spam does not go on:):D;)|-):O

u said that on singing sheep

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 24th 2009

You reported them? HAve they actualy one anything against the house rules? Anything at all? No. Every one has a right to their own opinion and i think you need to learn when is the right time and for what reason to report someone.

They were only stating their opinion because this must be frustrating for our newest members, but come on you don't need to report people for something like that.

Clay Fighter Posted: Oct 24th 2009

exacty,itschildish,
butsnig heep isnt a new member wandfan21

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 24th 2009

I know that CF But If the blocking message thing comes up i count them as new as Aardman have not yet removed the message block from the user.

Clay Fighter Posted: Oct 24th 2009

i think its because she doesnt spend much time on the website!

Seb Moderator Posted: Oct 24th 2009

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, as W&GFan21 says - and the best thing to do is ignore comments that are unhelpful, I've had rude people comment on my site's survey, but that's just life.

However, in the same way, kldceltic is allowed the right to report a post to Aardman if he feels like that. There was no call for that unfriendly post W&GFan21.

Purple&Brown Posted: Oct 24th 2009

Are there any more changes that are schedueled for the site?

kldceltic Posted: Oct 24th 2009

seb i am not a boy:-(

Seb Moderator Posted: Oct 24th 2009

Apologies KLD - your name didn't give it away and I couldn't tell otherwise. I thought it better to say 'he' than 'it'! ;)

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 25th 2009

Sorry but i thought that it was just point less to report someone when they have done nothing against the rules.

singing sheep Posted: Oct 28th 2009

Sorry I dislike it, but I had this argument with RichD, on Shaun the sheep.

nam man06 Posted: Oct 28th 2009

I like the new background and cool new safety features

timmy time rocks 22 Posted: Nov 15th 2009

thanks

Ursrut Posted: Nov 15th 2009

Katie i have begun to notice that sometimes when a conversation, like the drawings thread moves onto the next page, when i click on the thread it is a page behind.

katie Aardman Staff Posted: Nov 17th 2009

Is that because it has jumped you to the latest un-read message which is on the page before the most recent?

Purple&Brown Posted: Nov 17th 2009

It happens to me aswell, even if you have read all the posts on that page

Ursrut Posted: Nov 17th 2009

katie- mine is the same problem as purple&brown. Even though i've read it quite a few times it will go to the previous page.

shaun the lamb Posted: Nov 18th 2009

On the YOUR CREATIONS page, when you view a creation the staple things
<
EDITE: NOT ALL MY MESSAGE CAME OUT.
<- THOSE ARE THE STAPLE THINGS I MEAN AND THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE.

shaun the lamb Posted: Nov 18th 2009

Gromits little bro Posted: Nov 19th 2009
