The other day i saw it in the cinema. I think it was a great bit of animation and had a really good plot ( You can't go wrong with Roald Dahl). I was wondering what other people in Britain thought of it? (As i don't think it's released in the US until november)

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I haven't seen it yet but i would love too its my favourite book of all time and the animation looks slic did you know henry selick ( dirctor of thr nightmare before christmas and coraline) was originally going to direct it.

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

No i did not. I am addicted to some of the music from the film and keep playing it (on the official website) and i think i will get some of the tunes soon on itunes.

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

cool did you like coraline

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

Haven't seen it yet.

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

You have to its briliant really fab animating

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

It looks good.

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

There is another time burton release in the UK soon, Predictably those over the pond got it a month earlier :-(. But i think 9 is going to be really good ( and creepy, with mr burton it has to be abnormal or slightly scary.)

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

he is also making frankenweenie and its stopmotion yeah|-)

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

anyone know of any new stop motion movies coming out (not including frankenweenie)

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

There is One Called Here Be Monsters! Coming Out Next Year,But Other Than Not Many Coming Up Which Are English Speaking (Here Be Monsters! Is American is think, but all the other releases soon as french or dutch etc)

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

BUT there is a 'A Town Called Panic' Film Coming Very Soon. A Town Called Panis is made in Russia I Think But Aardman Distributes it,and you'll find it on th eaardman youtube channel. it's great.

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

And There's a Film that came out earlier this year called Mary and Max which i have read is brilliant but quite dark.

(i'm doing seperate messages cos the edit stuff isn't working)

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

Yeah thats about it. Although i think there is something called the cat burglars which i think is something to do with aardman.

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 27th 2009

sounds good any of you have animations your working on????

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

But there is a wide variety of computer generated films coming out soon.
There are some Pixar films to come such as:
The bear and the bow
Newt
Toy story 3
Cars 2 (Why did they need to make another one?)
Dreamworks will be continuing the shrek franchise with two new films to be released in 2012 and 2013.
And also dream works are making a Madagascar 3.

So most of the next few years are sequels. But Pixar's Newt looks good and A christmas Carol comes out this year.

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I Like The Sound of Shrek 5. Shrek has lost it's touch for some time now,but the new one has Paul Mccarntye playing a leading role,so i'll be seeing that in the cinema no doubt...:D

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

Sorry I Mean't Shrek Forever After

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I am not a great fan of sequels. There are only certian films that can work having a sequel or trilogy.
I think the only Films whcih have worked well in a trilogy are:
Indiana jones (Yes i know there are now 4)
Back to the future
The Terminator
And i think Toy story 3 will join them.

But Cars 2 will probably not be as good as the previous one. But i think the shrek series can go on as long as they can think of some good story lines.

crackingtoast Posted: Oct 27th 2009

i know what you mean. a few year ago,Disney made truckloads of bad quality sequels to their old classics (etc The Fox And The Hound 2,The Jungle Book 2) and they never work and always ruin the original film, without the old spirit.

now, trust me to use a beatles referenece, but you know the Vultures in the jungle book. there was a reason there were only four of them. because they were based on the beatles, and there where only four beatles, obviously. each one had a similer personality of one of the beatles. so in the very bad sequel,it utterly misses to point because it introduces a fifth vulture, which is very untrue to the original characters

one day, they are all goanna run out of ideas and go on with loads of sequels. lol just like there been around 13 pokemon movies, all with similair plots not getting anywhere.

Purple&Brown Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I saw it, it was amazing!

Well worth watching!

Ursrut Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I haven't seen it yet... i want to but i haven't.
I'm looking forward to 9 as well but no one wants to see it with me... maybe they'll change their mind though.
I don't think that sequiles go to well either.
They go to far with a lot of films when they see that it makes money forgetting the characters completely in some cases ( very untrue in Wallace and Gromit of course!!!).
Shrek i think is getting ridiculous, i never thought that i'd see a fourth one coming out, i thought that they'd had their happily ever after.

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 27th 2009

I think the first film is for the passion, the pride, to entertain the audience and win prestigious awards. There is usually allot of effort put into the first film of something.
The second is just to make money. Unless you can stick to the same idea of trying to entertain and put in effort of continue a storyline that will interest people.
The third can only work if you have written the trilogy well and the same passion goes into the film.
Very few Film franchises can do that:
e.g. Wallace and gromit
Back to the future
Indiana jones
ect...

southparkisgood Posted: Oct 28th 2009

Just seen Fantastaic Mr Fox and it is Fantastic!!!

concon Posted: Oct 29th 2009

I saw Fantastic Mr Fox and it was fantastic . I do have one thing that was wrong with it though . The only similarity to the book is the characters. It had really good animating though and was great ! I give it five wallaces out of six !

concon Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Hey we posted at same time. ;)

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Oct 29th 2009

lol, I never read the book so I don't know what was similair etc. I liked the bit when they go behind the human sized bike and then ride out on a tiny one!!!! lol:D

concon Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Lol . It was sad when Rat died even though he was a bad guy. I liked the bit where the cider came down and they were waving their arms about and stuff. :D

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Well i went to see up to up today. And i would recommend that everyone goes to see it. The start is quite sad but the end is brilliant.

concon Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Its good isnt it ! The dogs are funny and scary which is good. :)

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Yes i like the dogs. I found it very sad during the start of UP when Ellie died.

concon Posted: Oct 29th 2009

People spoiled it when I saw it by saying when they were running up the hill and Ellie was slow " OH YEAH ELLIE DIES DOESNT SHE ! " :-(

Purple&Brown Posted: Oct 29th 2009

I have just seen UP, it was great!

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Oct 29th 2009

lol when the dog eats the blueberry with the sleeping powder in!

Purple&Brown Posted: Oct 29th 2009

Yeh, and when the farmer does!

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 30th 2009

Yes i think it was really good. It's nice to see an animated film that is not Computer generated for once.

wandgfan21 Posted: Oct 30th 2009

Next Aardman stop motion feature film is The Cat burglars. It is directed by Steve Box, about cats that steal milk, and their plans to pull off 'the great milk float robbery'.

crackin cheese Posted: Oct 30th 2009
