Mark the shark Posted: Feb 21st 2008

Yes, we have indeed! I had to wear rubbish school socks today! DARN YOU SCHOOL!!!:D

Fish Posted: Feb 21st 2008

Yeah?:O They should allow W&G socks - they are nice looking. Besides, most people don't even notice your socks unless you point out to them the picture of or whoever!8)0:)

conty Posted: Feb 21st 2008

what mark, youve been to school!!! havent tou got half term?:O

Fish Posted: Feb 21st 2008

It must be different terms in Scotland. The schools here won't have a midterm break until March.

Mark the shark Posted: Feb 22nd 2008

My midterm break was on the 8th, 11th and 12th of Feb. ;)

Josephine Posted: Feb 22nd 2008

It's all very confusing!

Mark the Shark - I wear my & socks whenever I am doing something special...or when I need cheering up! ;)

By the way, I got pirate socks - skull and crossbones all over them. Argh-hargh! ;)

Fish Posted: Feb 22nd 2008

Those sound magnificent!8)

Mark the shark Posted: Feb 23rd 2008

Cool, Josephine! Sounds brill!;)

Fish Posted: Feb 28th 2008

Let us take a moment of silence to remember all those wonderful socks that have been lost,or worse, DARN it! :D I wore Wallace socks today! 8)

cinders1 Posted: Feb 29th 2008

oh and a moment for all of those that have lost their patners!! i have a drawer full that have taken 'the i will make it on my own veiw' hehe;)

purple and brown Posted: Feb 29th 2008

hello

squigly Posted: Feb 29th 2008

cinders, there must be a black hole somewhere that all the "other" socks fall into, leaving their partner alone to fend for themselves....:-(

Hi P&B!

Fish Posted: Feb 29th 2008

Losing a partner sock is true tragedy!:'( It's worse than a hole in the toe....darn it. The lost partner sock phenomenon is one of the things my Irish grandmother used to say was caused by "the animosity of the inanimate". 8)

Wadsworth Posted: Feb 29th 2008

Boy do I love socks, I have a boatload of them!!!!>:-)

Mark the shark Posted: Feb 29th 2008

Coolio, Wadsworth!;)

Josephine Posted: Mar 5th 2008

Greetings, Sock Lovers! Sock Eye Salmon at your service!

I am about to darn (DARN - lol!!! Geddit? Whoosh virtual tumbleweed. Classic, Fish!) my Rocky the Rooster socks - there's a gaping hole which needs some TLC. Scalpel! Scissors! Needle - more SOCK-tion! Matching fibre...

Indeed, we remember those comrades (my gran RIP used to call odd socks comrades - they weren't all red socks, surely?) that have blown off the washing line in force 9 gales, ended up pinned to the walls of the world's Launderettes, that have gone missing presumed stuck inside tumble dryers...indeed, they have earned their stripes...and their motifs, their characters and odours above and beyond the call of feet-warming duty in the darkest crevices of the smelly sneaker or the walking boot.

They will never be forgotten...nor those bereft that are left behind... 0:)

:'(

Josephine Posted: Mar 5th 2008

...those that are bereft and left behind are at ODDS with the world!

Fish Posted: Mar 5th 2008

Well, sockeye, darning is good for the sole!0:)

gromitlove Posted: Mar 5th 2008

We call them "unmarried" socks and have a huge collection, including some W&Gs, that I've been dragging around for years. More's the joy when, at last, a sock long alone with its comrades meets its true sole mate again. And how much greater the chagrin, after discarding one, to see the mate reappear.

They must go for long sea voyages.

squigly Posted: Mar 6th 2008

We used to put an old tennis ball into well worn tube socks whose tops have gone loose then play tug of war with the dogs. Or we'd swing it around and around then toss it out into the yard for the dog to fetch. The sock seems to go further with a tennis ball in it!

Mark the shark Posted: Mar 6th 2008

Shark coming through, DARN IT!!! I love DARN IT! DARN! DARN! DARN! DARN! DARN! DARN IT!!! DARN!!!! Sorry, I love saying that!;)

MARLOW NATHAN Posted: Mar 6th 2008

gromitlove Posted: Mar 10th 2008
:-(

I bought 10 pairs at a market two years ago, and the bag broke on the way home!:'( 4 pairs lost forever:-(!

Fish Posted: Mar 11th 2008

Tell me about the remaining six pairs, gromitlove. What are they like? Do you wear them often?

Fish Posted: Mar 11th 2008

Who has a pair like this???

Mark the shark Posted: Mar 11th 2008

Nope. Sorry.;)

Josephine Posted: Mar 16th 2008

My Rocky the Rooster socks are now in intensive care...

squigly Posted: Mar 17th 2008

Maybe they're hanging in London's Hard Sock Cafe?:-(|)

(hehe..couldn't resist)

Fish Posted: Mar 17th 2008

Good one, squigly!

Josephine Posted: Mar 19th 2008

squigly! That is a classic! :D|-)>:-)

Imagine it - the socks of the famous hanging around the hallowed halls of the Hard SOCK Cafe! Now THAT's the place to be! A frothy coffee (or a good quality cuppa for all you tea bellies out there...like me!) and gazing up at the Sock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame...

There's an outdoor pursuit shop near me called Snow and Rock...p'raps its footwear department should be Snow and SOCK!!!

Fish Posted: Mar 19th 2008

Josephine, maybe the Hard Sock Cafe could sell mintballs too!:D

RowansLovesWAndG Posted: Mar 20th 2008

Mark the shark Posted: Mar 20th 2008
